Support Available

If you have been sexually assualted there is support available both at York St John University and locally through specialist services. A full list of options and information is available within our Information for students-What to do if you have been sexually assaulted

Turn to Bridgehouse is York’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) and they provide a service for women and men who have been sexually assaulted or raped recently or in the past. You can make a self- referral to them through their website or call them on 0330 223 0362. The SARC are able to provide expert information on what to do after an attack (e.g. how to keep evidence of the assault) even if you are not ready to decide on what you want your next steps to be.

University Welfare Advisers can provide initial support and signpost you to specialist services. An appointment can be booked via the Student Information Desk in Holgate T 01904 876477, or E sid@yorksj.ac.uk.For more information please see the YSJU  Welfare Advice.

The Wellbeing Team in Student Services provides a range of support services, including counselling. You can access them via the Drop In (Mon-Fri) Wellbeing Support
