Hate Crime
The 2020/21 academic year saw the launch of the We Don't Condone it campaign, focusing on raising awareness of, and tackling, Hate Crime on Campus. The collaborative project between the YSJU students union, YSJU wellbeing team, YSJU Law School, Equality and Diversity, and All About Respect, the We Don't Condone It campaign aims to raise awareness of Hate Crime on campus. Over the course of the 2020/21 academic year watch out for podcasts, blogs, and other activities focusing around this issue.

November has seen the launch of:

The first episode of the We Don't Condone it podcast. In this episode, Molly Catterell talks to Emily Balmer LGBTQ+ officer in the Students Union about Hate Crime. You can listen to the podcast here.

The launch of a blog post on What is Hate Crime: a guide for students written by students in the Law School which explains the legal definition of Hate Crime, alongside some useful example and some sources of support. You can read this blog post here.
